A great night. At the Angelo Mai, one of the best place for art performances in Rome, warm and exciting atmosphere, the Luminal had their great gig, together with another great artist, Marco Filippetti, with his luminal’s portraits exposed on the stage. They presented their new song, La firma.

Canzoni di Tattica e Disciplina.
Songs of tactics and discipline: that’s what Luminal play. they play alternative rock in Italian, drawing a line that connects England and America, crosses rock music and Italian pop tradition and ends up in Rome and on several stages all over Italy, where songs and people grind together.
In October 2007 Cristiano Santini, former leader of the punk band Disciplinatha and creator of the indie label Action Directe/Black Fading Records, literally fell in love with this musical project and proposed to produce, in cooperation with the band itself, their first LP “Canzoni di Tattica e Disciplina”, to be released one year later, in november 2008.
A few months later two eminent brands took interest in the project: Fridge Records became label partner as well as publisher of the album and Goodfellas took over the distribution.
The painter, graphic artist and photographer Marco Filippetti created the artwork. He also takes care of the set design for the band’s live shows. Since Oct 2008 he’s been the eye through which the public sees the band.
The album was presented to the public at the FNAC store in Rome on Jan 24th 2009 and has been widely praised by both public and critics, it’s currently programmed by many indie radio stations in Italy and can be found in most major record stores.
In a considerably short time Luminal got a huge number of good reviews by important Italian radio stations such as Radio Rai 1 (National most important radio) Radio Rock and Radio Città Futura.
Since June 2009 Luminal are being programmed by BRF (Belgium national radio).
Their first video “Tattica e Disciplina”, by Solobuio Visual Factory, nearly hit 10.000 views in few months on Youtube, and is on many italian televisions such as: Rete4, All Music, Music Box, Match Music.
The press repeatedly stated that Luminal’s first album is one of the best things released on the Italian rock scene in the last years.
The first release of the album was sold out in 2 months.
Canzoni di Tattica e Disciplina sums up everything Luminal are.
“Songs”: that’s what they write, never yielding to cheap, snobbish, experimental-sounding, pompous poses. Because it is still possible to communicate something, despite the mass communication industry.
“Tactics and Discipline”: that’s what’s needed to get on with life, and that’s what’s needed to learn in order to make music.
